Description

FOX-04 (also known as FOXO4-DRI or Proxofim) is a senolytic research peptide built as a retro-inverso (D-amino-acid) fragment of the FOXO4 protein. It is designed to disrupt the interaction between FOXO4 and p53 inside senescent cells – the aged, non-dividing cells that accumulate in tissue and secrete inflammatory signals.

Mechanistically, research describes FOX-04 as freeing p53 from FOXO4 specifically in senescent cells, restoring the p53-driven apoptosis that selectively clears those cells while sparing healthy ones, thereby reducing the associated inflammatory (SASP) signaling – studied in cellular and accelerated-aging animal models of senescence.
