BAC Water (Bacteriostatic Water)

Description

Bacteriostatic water is not an active compound but a laboratory solvent – sterile water containing a small amount of benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. Its function is purely practical: it is used to reconstitute lyophilized (freeze-dried) research peptides into solution.

The benzyl-alcohol preservative allows a sealed vial to tolerate multiple withdrawals without microbial growth, and the solution is formulated to be non-reactive with amino-acid chains.
